LDO Voltage Regulator with EN-Function and low Iq
Enable input, offered in positive and negative logic, turn the device on and off. Active-high logic activates the device, when the activation voltage exceeds the high-logic threshold. The low active logic deactivates the device, when the activation voltage is below the logic low threshold. The enable input allows external control of LDO voltage regulator switching on and off, it is an important feature when sequencing supplies in multi-rail systems.
When the LDO voltage regulator turned off but the device still connected to the battery system, the input current will be limited, usually up to 1 µA, known as shutdown current. Shutdown current is commonly confused with the quiescent current, which is the current drawn by the device when it is operating with no load, however is still enabled.
