Safe and Reliable operation of Power Tools and DC Drives
Protectifiers® - For an Extra Margin on Safety and Low Power Losses

Free-wheeling diodes used in power tools and DC drives are subject to high voltage transients and forward current peaks, which occur especially during start-up or when the motor gets suddenly blocked. Such events could damage the switch component and thus the entire system. Here come our Protectifiers® into action.
They stand for “Protected Rectifiers”, featuring low forward voltage drop and very robust reverse characteristics, comparable to suppressor diodes. The first enables not only lower power losses and thus low operating temperatures, but also very high forward surge current capability. The second safeguards the speed control unit inside the power tool and DC drive for a high reliable operation.
