Information about Material Contents of Diotec Products
All of our products are compliant to RoHS/WEEE/ELV and REACH
As an European company with headquarter in Germany and a worldwide customer base, we are fully aware about the environmental legislations such as RoHS/WEEE/ELV or the REACH directive. We do not only take care for environment friendly materials, but also for environment friendly production.
Since 01 January 2006 we deliver all of our goods compliant to EU directives RoHS/WEEE/ELV. The change-over of production was already made from May 2004 on, the packing of compliant devices is marked by a green logo. This green logo is the only characteristic to distinguish compliant from non- compliant parts, which might have been shipped during change-over phase 2004 to 2005.
Leadfree Tinning and Solderability
- Leadfree Tinning of Outer Contacts
For dip tinning of our devices a Sn95.5Ag3.8Cu0.7 alloy is used, for galvanically tinned parts pure Sn. - All parts (even older, non lead free ones) are solderable with lead free processes
Allowed soldering parameters (see J-STD-020C/JESD22A111 ): max 260°C for no longer than 5 s more information
Our articles and their packaging materials do not contain substances included in the candidate list* (date 19/11/2011) according to article 59 (1, 10) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 („REACH“) (see the website of the European Chemicals Agency (EChA) http://echa.europa.eu/) in a concentration above 0.1 % by weight.

- Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB)
- Polybrominated Diphenyl Ether (PBDE)
Other bromine compounds are still allowed!
In the plastic molding compound of our diodes, a bromine containing flame retardant is used: Tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBA, CAS 79-94-7), to ensure flammability class UL94V-0!

The molding compound used for Diotec products is free of
- DecaBDE (DecaBromoDiphenylEther)
- PFOS (PerFluoroOctaneSulfonate)
- PAHs (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons)
- PFOA (PerFluoroOctanoic Acid)
Diotec devices and their packaging are free of
- DMF (DiMethylFumarate)
- Phtalate
Diotec takes its responsibility as a global partner very seriously. We work vigorously with our suppliers of raw materials that none of these materials come from any Conflict Regions, such as some areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo. We work with our supply chain to insure that we maintain the policy not supporting Conflict material suppliers.
